I decided to do some digging and found this:

Quote:
Summer means blockbusters, and that's why issue 191 of PCFormat is one of our most bumper-backed yet. Kicking it off is a world exclusive 14-day trial of the bestselling online roleplaying game, Guild Wars - pus a scoop first look at the incredible next installment in its saga, Nightfall. That's but one facet of of this month's bulging (to the tune of over 13GB) pair of cover discs, of course.
...annoyingly vague, no?

Well, after I read this thread I decided to go out and buy the magazine. It is claiming it is exclusive, and with it you get a Guild Wars DVD which is supposed to hav the "complete game" on, and on the back...a serial code, which you can activate on the weekend of September 1st. Perhaps because it is an exclusive, it can not be published on the Guild Wars website for some time until lots of people have paid the, frankly, rip-off price for the magazine! It's the first magazine I have bought in 10 years or so...but if it gives me 10 hours/14 days (whichever comes first!) I guess it was worth it! - Only for Guild Wars though - no other game would get so much dedication.

In case anyone was wanting confirmation of what was said in Post #17, it does appear to be true, if the magazine has it's sources right and had the correct information! I am wondering when, if ever, this information will be on the Guild Wars website itself...

I imagine anyone with a GW account will be allowed into this event (I haven't tried adding the code to my account).

EDIT: Beaver, the 10hours/14 days is for a prophecies trial, with the code also letting you into the Nightfall PVE Preview Event on the weekend of September 1st.

as much as i really would like to, I think ill just stick with pvp only until the game is released- otherwise ill get sick of the noob area before the game is even out.

The first time I play through i iwll do all the quests... the second I will go quicker... the third will be as rushed as possible...

Yes, Ill wait til my character becomes perminent before exploring the new world.

Actually Im out of slots now, and I dont want to buy anymore knowing that ill get 3 in another two months....

Elona- I will finally make a Ranger Primary for you!

(gw1- mez, war, nec, ele)
(gw2- asn, rit, monk)
(gw3- woot woot woot)

Got the magazine yesterday and noticed 1 small important detail...on the GW DVD (DVD 2) it says:

Quote:
Activate this client over the weekend of September 1st 2007 to join the PvE Beta test weekend
GuildWars Chapter 5 anyone?

GW is already at the 4GB mark (About 4.13GBs to be exact). When the second beta starts pouring in, its gonna be well over 4.7GB(single layer DVD disc).

It hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet: Alex Weekes of NCsoft has confirmed that the date Sept 1 is false.
